Following a Signal Path through a device can be done from both inputs and outputs. Once you have fit your .ngd file, you can examine the path of a signal as follows:
Load the .vm6 netlist file for your design into the Chip Viewer. If you do not know how to do this, see Opening a Design.
The device will appear in the ChipViewer display. If necessary, adjust the magnification of the display using the zoom icons. See Toolbar Buttons for more information.
Locate the input or output signal you want to follow and click once on the pin. You should see at least one line appear going to a macrocell. If the signal is an output, there should only be one line; if it is an input, there may be many macrocells the signal goes to.
Click once on the center of the macrocell to examine all the inputs and outputs of the macrocell. Double-click the macrocell to get macrocell details. See Macrocell Details for more information.
The details will show a schematic representation of the macrocell, a list of all inputs and outputs, and a list of all implemented equations in the macrocell. The schematic will show any import or export connections to other macrocells. You can double-click on the connections on the schematic to view the other macrocell(s).
Note: Viewing the equations will inform you of the details of the pterms being imported from other macrocells.
